Bolder Values in Action: Inspiring Workshops and Talks This Half-Term

We are committed to instilling strong values in our students and equipping them with essential life skills. This half-term, we have welcomed a variety of external organizations to deliver insightful and engaging workshops, helping students to navigate key challenges and opportunities in today's world.

Our Year 7 and 8 students had the invaluable opportunity to hear from local police officers about the dangers of gang involvement and the impact of social media. These discussions aimed to raise awareness and encourage responsible decision-making both online and offline.

For our Year 9 students, Transport for London (TfL) led an important workshop on tackling sexual harassment on public transport. This session provided practical advice on how to stay safe, report incidents, and be an active bystander in support of others.

Technology and innovation took centre stage in a coding workshop delivered by Sky to our Year 8 students. This hands-on session introduced them to the exciting world of programming, inspiring many to consider future careers in tech.

A powerful and thought-provoking talk on anti-extremism was given by Mike Haines OBE. Sharing his personal story, he encouraged students to embrace unity, tolerance, and resilience in the face of division.

Year 8 also benefited from a careers workshop delivered by Sparx, with volunteers from Heathrow Airport offering insights into various industries. The session provided students with valuable guidance on different career paths and the skills needed to thrive in the professional world.

These workshops and talks reflect our ongoing commitment to providing students with meaningful learning experiences beyond the classroom.
