Pupil Premium and Catch Up Grants
The Pupil Premium Grant is additional Government funding that is allocated to students who have been registered for benefit-related free school meals, or whose parents have been in receipt of any benefits listed, at any point in the last six years.
The Catch Up Grant is awarded to schools directly. It is to be used to support Year 7 students who did not achieve the expected standard in reading or maths at the end of Key Stage 2.
The Pupil Premium Grant comes directly into our Academy to support the participation of extra-curricular activities.
We will publish details of how Bolder Academy spends its Pupil Premium Grant here.

Year 7 Literacy and Numeracy Catch-Up Funding 2019-2020
We firmly believe all of our students, no matter their background, deserve the best possible chance to access opportunities in school and beyond. We are focused on supporting the progress of all our students and in particular providing the right support for our Pupil Premium students.
Our Governing Board understands the right of every student to receive a free school education and that activities offered during normal teaching time should be available to all students. Costs should not become a barrier for any student when it comes to participation.
The Governors do also recognise the valuable contribution that the wide range of additional activities, trips and residential experiences can make towards students’ education and life chances.
The education we provide at Bolder Academy, including the facilities and materials, compulsory curriculum trips and/or education for prescribed examinations is free.
Further details can be found here in the Charging and Remission Policy 2022
Occasionally we may request voluntary contributions for visits/activities both inside and outside school time, residential or non-residential, school equipment and school funds generally.
The literacy and numeracy catch–up premium gives state-funded schools, including special schools and alternative provision settings, additional funding to support year 7 pupils who did not achieve the expected standard in reading or maths at the end of key stage 2 ( KS2 ).
