At the end of the summer term, there were two successful Duke of Edinburgh trips to the Surrey Hills for the Bronze and Silver Level Awards.
The first trip included thirty Y9 students and the second trip included thirty-four Y10/11 students. Students acquired vital learning and survival skills in the build-up training sessions and further developed these during the expedition itself including first-aid, cooking with a Trangia, tent building and compass/map skills.
The students were fantastic and collectively achieved a 97% pass rate for the expedition.
A huge thank you to the following teachers who attended one or both of the trips:
Miss Shutkever, Mr Hurn, Mr Needham, Mr Lobo, Miss Seward and Trip Leader, Mr Hillier.
We cannot wait to send out the 5 Duke of Edinburgh trips planned for this year.
